Can someone file a lien against property in my name just because we used to date when I bought it? Live in TX.?

We bought it while involved with the hopes of building a household on it. His credit was horrible so he couldn’t be place on the annotation. We split, about 2 years ago, but he continued making half the payment. It’s currently for sale.He had me sign a document stating we were never legally married or considered common law so I couldn’t go after his medical practice. Now, he’s in financial distress and wants his name on the property. He’s considering declaring personal and professional bankruptcy as well. I’m willing to make the entire payment if he stops but am not willing to place his name on it for worry creditors could then come after me. So now he’s saying he’s going to file a lien against the property. There are no contracts or agreements pertaining to this property that we ever signed. All the paperwork is completely in my name. Can he just go file a lien?

I don’t see how he can. Everything is in your name. Do not place his name on nothing. He is just trying to scare u.

Keep it all in your name and give him nothing. He will have to make a judgement in court before he can.
