I guess I can question a stupid question … but with new formats like TrueHD and DTS track ‘(HD Master Audio?) what it means to people “previous-gen A / V receivers? No TrueHD, DTS-HD or Dolby More … If I have a HD or a Blu-Ray (and HD show, of course), will be leaving my current A / V receiver, as the audio? I intend to up my system soon anyway – but a new TV initially (LCD). I am now with Yamaha, and hope to go to Onkyo for my next receiver, because they are so highly regarded. SR605 and the news seems to be a excellent value – budget “next-gen” receiver I suppose … the 505 is not full implementation sports HDMI – HDMI [1,3], I suppose – so it is no audio participation HDMI, it is honest to passage.C is far to be that kind of thing – this is my initially A / V system anyway … This is my room setup, so it will remain simple, even if I upgrade. Make sure you have a source device which has multi-direct discrete outputs on it. A excellent quality receiver, even from the day of Judgment Pro will be able to work with this type of connection, you just have a multichannel participation. There will be six cables instead of one, but you did not question of compatibility issues or CPU firmware. The source device to decode the signal, it must do anyway. But then, going to an optical connection or PCM needed to re-encode. Why worry about just skip the midpoint man. You can still use the HDMI connection for record if you want.

Honestly, I do not worry – a very good set of Component cables are actually better than HDMI. I realize that HDMI is to dig -> dig but you get much more “fluid” realistic feel to the TV! HDMI is good for a reason – because it can carry audio and video on the same câble.DTS-HD/Dolby Plus is simply the next step in audio and higher bit rates.
