When I bought the initially journal of this book, I was a terrible post graduates responsible for terrible debts. At the time, I knew nothing about CD, funds, stocks, bonds, insurance, 401 (k) ‘s buy of a home, budgeting, saving, debt reduction, taxes, or any other valuable question of personal finance. All I knew was that I could never seem to “go ahead” financially. Tyson book led me from this sad state by four years of self-culture and more more confidence about control of my own financial future. Even now, with no debt and market-set, I still reference this book when I encounter a new facet of my financial life. No “to become rich quickly, “Tyson establishes a solid framework for anyone interested in obtaining and maintaining control of their own financial situation over a lifetime. The thoughts he presents not only aid a person to educate themselves about the money but also building confidence that the financial situation can be corrected or controlled personally.Although this book will serve as a useful reference for anyone interested in their own financial future, it would be particularly useful to a youth just “beginner” or any person who feels overwhelmed by their own financial situation.

I work as a finance professional, specific advice regarding the options in their retirement plans sponsored by employers. While the advice I can give you is limited to their retirement plot, several have questioned me for advice in other areas of their financial lives. I have no hesitation in recommending this book. Whether you’re from a box in getting your finances in order, or your account is balanced to the penny every week, there is information in this book that will subsidy you. The “For Dummies” format is exact for this subject, and Eric Tyson does an brilliant job of breaking in terms of concepts more complex financial and investment profane. In addition, an brilliant section on selecting a financial planner is provided. I have often seen the devastating effect that terrible financial advice has wrought in people’s lives. The list of criteria when looking for a financial advisor is one of the most valuable tools I’ve seen on the subject. This book is one of the most valuable resources I have ever seen to aid the average person take control of their financial lives. The application of its principles will pay immediate and long-term rewards.

Personal Finance for Dummies is one of the preeminent books written after 1995 Personal Finance. Although there are a wealth of information, there are bounty of holes. Nevertheless, a fantastic book for anyone interested in Personal Finance. I strongly recommend “More Wealth without Risk” and “Financial Self Defense” by Charles Givens and “The Truth About Money” to aid fill some gaps that Mr Tyson missed.

I really loved Mr Tyson’s book. Very well written and informative. For even more strategies and also an simple read, I highly suggest Financial Self Defense by Charles Givens. Givens goes into areas untouched by Tyson. Tyson and Givens books should be on the shelf serious about their financial future of everyone. Read and learn.

They do not teach personal finance in schools. In this book, the author Tyson teaches that all secondary schools in the nation must learn to anyone thinking of making money.
This book provides brilliant advice on how to save your money and how to configure your savings and spending priorities. In particular, Tyson takes into account the tariff advantages and disadvantages of different approaches, and provides an simple to implement ways to maximize the tariff benefits that the government plans to encourage excellent financial decisions.

It is right that the author likes mutual funds from Vanguard and his book recommends to clearly identify (with a few others). He is in excellent company: Consumer Reports also recommends some mutual funds from Vanguard and Vanguard has always the lowest costs in the mutual fund industry.

Finally, a tip: avoid, avoid, avoid any book that recommends questionable tariff evasion schemes such as starting your own fictitious company in order to take tariff deductions on personal expenses. Instead, buy this book and follow the recommendations of Tyson to take advantage of legitimate tariff benefits associated with saving and wise spending.
