Question by : Are there more males or females in the world?
I read on one site there is 2% more women than I read on another site there are 57 million more men than women!
It says here:
“There are 57 million more men than women globally, the UN said in a report to mark the World Statistics Day.
The report titled The World’s Women 2010: Trends and Statistics, was released by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
The UN General Assembly in June this year proclaimed October 20 as World Statistics Day to recognise the importance of statistics in shaping societies.
The report showed that women globally have ‘benefited’ from the gender statistics in the last decade.
It said Europe has more women than men. But in some of the most populous countries, there is a shortage of women, such as in China where the ratio is 108 men per 100 women.
“We know that statistics are a vital tool for economic and social plotting,” Keiko Osaki-Tomita, chief of Demographic and Social Statistics Branch (DSSB) of DESA, said at a press conference. “Statistics are essential for academic investigate, business plotting and budget allocation.”"
I also read: I read somewhere that “Globally, there are about 105-107 boys born for every 100 girls. Since 1940, an average of 91,685 more male babies have been born each year in the US than females, a total of 5,776,130 over that 63-year period. The highest sex birth ratio occurred in 1946 (1,059 male births per 1,000 females) while the lowest occurred in 1991 and again in 2001 (1,046 male births per 1,000 females). For all available years combined, Chinese (1,074) and Filipino mothers (1,072) had the highest differences between the number of boys born versus girls, while non-Hispanic black (1,031) and American Indian mothers (1,031) had the lowest.”
So how comes in this one song it says “there’s more women than men in this earth and that’s a detail”
From where I live there seems to be more men, when I ever I initiation a college there are more male students, or at shops ect.
Also in my family tree in 3 years there has been 16 births and only 2 were girls and there rest were boys!
I’m confused? are there more males or females in the world?!?!?!?!?

depends on where in the world you live. In the midpoint east because of war they have a lot more women than men. Why one man can have 4 wives and there is still bounty left for the poor smuck who survives years of war. Also, a girl baby can be sold and for some taxi cab driver in New york to sell his virgin daughter to some rich Saudi he can make a million dollars. The 4 women can take care of him in a veer chair but he can still produce babies which is the thought
So they do not mind having girls.
China there is a lot more males than females because they do not want to have a baby girl. It costs to make someone to take her. So it is just the opposite and males are expected to take care of aging parents so a son is social security to the parents. A girl just costs them money so most are aborted. The same in India because it costs to make rid of a girl baby when she is grown.
Also in India some family tree’s of the son kill his wife to make another one and another bride price. So it is very rough for women in India.
In Western society they are pretty even and they have a lot of men and women who choose not to marry so it is pretty even. So if you are a women and want a downward gradient life you hope you are born in a elegant country.
