Question by makeupalleygirl: What is a reasonable budget for “budget” trip to Australia?
I am plotting a three week trip to Australia beginning this fall. I intend to stay on the east coast, with the exception of a fleeting package to Uluru by plane which is $ 550. For the remaining time, what is reasonable amount to have on hand, staying mostly in hostels with my own food, but in a excellent resort in the Whitsundays for a few nights? Thankfulness in advance!

it is really hard to give an indication – i would budget about $ 200+ per day maybe all up about $ 4000 (at smallest amount!) if all the airfaires are pre-paid, another link of hundred if you are paying for them when you are here. I figure it’s better to have more money than not enough. Do you know what you are wanting to do whilst you are in Australia? Which states you want to visit? I would work that out and then post again and people can give you suggestions on what to do.
