Question by Youraveragejoe: Why should we trust Obama?
Obama has made TV appearances a excellent while ago saying that the stimulus plot will take effect immediately. I quote, “It is ahead of schedule and under budget.” Now, in a recent appearance, he said that of course it’s going to take longer than a few months. So this either means he’s a liar or near-sighted (Only seeing the here and the now.). Either way, how can we trust him? Mature comments only. No trolling.

Not so sure anymore. But at smallest amount he hasn’t done anything incorrect for me to lose confidence in him either. The man is literally trying to undo all the crap that is ruining our economy now. Although I do hope that he is really trying to make an try to aid us instead of drinking champagne and intake caviar everyday, while people are taking the real toll and having a hard time. Hopefully he will try to rush up and do a touch before he loses the support of his fellow Americans. But we never know what the future holds….

Because he hasn’t given me a reason not to trust him.
Honestly I don’t trust him and I don’t trust anyone. I don’t trust my own flesh and blood these days. Obama is just another harvard cum-laude… Paint him any color you want, the only insignia the wealthy know is green and gold. They don’t know us.
That is the 1st thing I noted that I didn’t like about Sarah Palin BTW. Who has a kitchen like that? Absurd. It’s so gorgeous that I want to rip my eyes out of their sockets and piss inside my brain.

We should not, he has lied to us since day one as President… there is a reason he has gone down in the polls so much. 9 trillion deficit by 2010… I do not see that as trying to HELP the US citizens. He is the most selfish President EVER.
Chosen1: I agree with you apart from for the comment about Sarah Palin. Her husband is a self made millionaire… you can do investigate and fine that out. That’s like saying why do the Hilton’s have such nice things… because they can afford them.

The construction can be ahead of schedule and under budget.
And it could take more than a few months to exact the construction.

We can’t. He’s a liar. If you go back and reckon about everything he said or promised; he has done just the opposite.
What we can learn from that is whatever he tells you; believe the opposite, because that is what will happen
It is not a lie to expect one outcome, then later, reassess the situation and determine a different expectation. Roosevelt said we would not enter WWII. But other events changed that expectation. But this is not what has really happened. It was made clear from the beginning that the stimulus would take 2 years for full effect.
I can trust him, because he never lied outright to my face like the last president did.
Trust is optional. There is nothing forcing you to trust your leaders and every single politician will be incorrect a small time in their career.
The main reason why politicians “lie” isn’t because they are liars, rather, they are human beings with access to imperfect information. Take JFK for instance, he railed against the “Missile Gap” and said that if he was voted president he would accelerate missile production and when he was voted, to his astonishment, the missile gap was in our favor and so he slowed down production.
DOes this make him liar? Yes, an innocent one.
This is just an example but contrary to the well loved notion that politicians lie…most of these lies are trustworthy mistakes made because the information they had is imperfect..
I’m not defending Obama because Republicans use this same argument to defend the Invasion of Iraq…that is…Bush made the preeminent choice with the intel he had available and so he made a trustworthy mistake.

as obama himself has said on many occasions when questioned about a touch, his well-known quote was this…
“because I AM the PRESIDENT!”
he said that when questioned why he wouldnt look at the shape bills the repubs had submitted to congress.
He said that also when the repubs had a bill for the stimulus and many other times.
We shouldn’t! Trust is earned and he hasn’t earned our trust. He’s a blatant liar.
THE TRUTH IS HE HAS NO DEFINITIVE ANSWER AT THIS TIME.
He has other commitments from the POLITICOS that are perceived as more time IMMINENT and the rest is just eye wash. THE REALITY OF ANY PRESIDENCY IS TO SERVE THE ELITE AND CORPORATE AMERICA. THE VOTING PUBLIC ARE INCONSEQUENTIAL. UNTIL THE VOTERS REALIZE THIS, THE SAME EVENTS WILL OCCUR IN THE NEXT 4 YEARS, NOTHING WILL CHANGE UNLESS THE PEOPLE CHANGE THE TYPE OF GOVERNANCE THAT IS NEEDED IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
I have never trusted the man. His followers don’t really listen to what he says anyway. They are blind sheep. He is in this for himself. He doesn’t care about anyone, not even his flock. In the end, he will fail. Unfortunately, that could mean America will fail.
Obama has made a lot of promises that he hasn’t kept, both during his campaign and as President. Just a few:
He said unemployment would be halted at 8% under the Stimulus, one of the main reasons it was passed – it’s now 9.5% and will be 10% by most economic projections by 2010.
No Lobbyists in his administration. Broke that promise nearly immediately and now their are former lobbyists all over the house in his regime.
Transparency. He promised “Sunlight Before Signing” i.e., open access to pending legislation for 5 days before voting. Half the bills signed by Obama never made it to even one day.
He’s a liar, not near-sighted.
He is tap dancing. The major interest now is unemployment. Companies in the tank can recover from a downturn and produce profit, or lessen loss in two ways. Either augmented sales revenue, or cost cutting.
Since the stimulus hasn’t produced augmented spending, businesses are cutting costs to reduce loss or produce profit. Truth is, unfortunately, the most effective cost cutting is cutting back on the work force.
Obama knows the current recovery he is claiming, was artificially produced by cost cutting in employment. And the preeminent chances of continued recovery is a continued cut-rate labor force. He is willing to sacrifice jobs in order the make his economic numbers look better.
Well, I am not even an American and I know that the economy of the USA was 12 trillion in debt at the time when Mr Bush and Co left the White Household…he stuffed your economy, to place it bluntly and it would take a courageous man to even attempt to try and fix your financial woes. I don’t know if more people got behind President Obama and looked at the options facing you all, working collectively instead of pulling in opposite and diverse information, your economy and people would survive, the tough times…..but, then again ……
I’m sure that if he was white and midpoint class, all-American, you wouldn’t even be asking this question but it is a pun thing about colour…it… is indeed only skin-deep…..
Indeed, most countries of the world have had ‘stimulus packages’ to attempt to kickstart their economies and America is no different…so if you want to continually knock your country’s leader, you’ll never have the courage to stick out the long haul if you are continually whining about what could have been and picking everything to pieces…when the going gets tough, the tough make going, so It’s your choice..after all, it is your country…
